In October 2017, The Puerto Rican Agenda of Chicago shifted focus of the Pallets and Planes campaign to instead direct purchasing of pallets in Puerto Rico to stimulate the local economy. As a result the campaign rebranded and changed the name to Pallets in Puerto Rico.  The signature strategy of the campaign is to ensure the greatest impact of donations through the most effective methods in a short time frame.

Each donation contributed to the Puerto Rican Relief Fund in the month of October 2017 went to purchasing pallets of emergency supplies directly from warehouses in Puerto Rico. Pallets were personally received by municipal leadership in Puerto Rico for immediate distribution across the island.
